Scallops Yacht

By | Boats

This new Lurssen megaycht, estimated to be about 100 meters (330 ft?), probably in the neighborhood of $100 – $150 million to build, may be considered a “classic” in 10 years:

But to my old, conservative eyes it appears chaotic, busy, jumbled and outright odd.

I really do not get the huge scalloped section in the lower hull and echoing scallops above. Weird.

Does anyone think it is good looking?

Italian Weekender

By | Boats

Although I usually profess scorn at Italian boats, Azimut in particular, this new 40’ outboard-powered weekender appeals to me. It is sporty enough to be fun to drive, has nice wide walkaround decks for easy docking even for tubby geezers, and adequate accommodations for cruising.

Will look forward to seeing it at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show coming up soon.
